The Port of Kavala S.A. (PKO S.A.) announces that the company's CEO, Dr. Angelos F. Vlachos, was elected to the presidency of the Mediterranean Cruise Ports Association (MedCruise), during the 65η General Assembly of the Union held on Friday, September 13 in Malaga.
Dr. A. Vlachos was elected for the next three years as the representative of the small ports of the Eastern Mediterranean. The Association represents more than 150 ports from 22 countries (11 within the EU and 11 outside) in countries of Europe, Asia and Africa. Given that MedCruise is the largest Port Association in the world in the field of cruises, the inclusion of O.L.K. S.A. in the new administration for the first time is a remarkable success for the Organization, the city of Kavala and the wider region. It is also noted that Ms. Th. Riga was elected President of the Mediterranean Ports Association for Cruises, representing the port of Thessaloniki (OTTH S.A.).
After his election, the CEO of O.L.K. S.A. noted: "We are committed to honoring the trust of Mediterranean ports, making every effort to re-emphasize cruising, with an emphasis on small and vulnerable destinations and on expanding sustainability for the benefit of local communities and of course the partners involved.».
