Municipal Port Fund of Poros (M.P.F.)

The Municipal Port Fund of Poros (M.P.F. Poros) was established in 2001 with Presidential Decree 336/2001 and manages an extensive Port Land Zone with intense passenger, commercial and tourist activity.
The Port Land Zone, originally defined in 1938, includes the natural harbor of Poros, one of the largest and safest natural harbors in Greece and the Saronic Gulf.

The jurisdiction of the Poros Port Authority extends to the island of Poros and part of the Eastern Peloponnese, within the administrative boundaries of the Municipality of Poros. The total length of the Port Land Zone is approximately 5.000 m. and includes port infrastructure, tourist and coastal facilities.

The main port activities concern coastal and ferry connections, passenger and vehicle traffic, fishing and maritime tourism. The New Passenger Port of Poros serves the coastal ferry connection with Piraeus and Galatas, while it also operates a tourist shelter for pleasure boats.

The Poros Maritime and Tourism Authority implements modernization and environmental upgrade projects, with an emphasis on "smart" infrastructure, sustainable development and the strengthening of marine tourism, contributing substantially to the local economy.
